Naga Race(revised) Empty
PostSubject: Naga Race(revised)   Naga Race(revised) EmptyFri May 06, 2016 12:47 am

Description: Nagas are a race of half human, half snake hybrids, and like the orcs, are native to Ukavone Kulkodar, and are typically found in the forests and swamps. By appearance, these creatures appear to have the lower body of a snake from the waist down, and from the waist up, the body of a human. Females appear to be more common to this race than males, but no matter the gender, the nagas are skilled in stealth based combat, though they aren't afraid to get up close and personal with their opponents. Being part snake, they're capable of performing tasks that normally, only a snake can do, and can use their tails to bind their opponents, if only for a brief moment. Additionally, they have fangs, and similarly to a vampire, will bite their opponent, however, rather than sucking out blood, they can inject various types of venom into their target.

Behaviors and Lifestyle:
Nagas live in tribes. Or, more accurately, the entirety of the naga race in Ukavone Kulkodar live in one large clan, and within that clan, there are smaller tribes, just like a kingdom. Similarly to orcs, nagas live in camps positioned all throughout the forests and swamps...and to a lesser extent, the mountains. As a whole, nagas try to be polite and civil. In fact, the 'tribe' that would effectively be like the capital city of a kingdom--in otherwords, the lead tribe of the clan, seem to be a very friendly and kind people. This could potentially be because of the previous queen before she died. Unlike her successors, the most recent queen worked her hardest to make good relations with the other races, and to teach her race good 'habits' and behavior. As far as she could tell, the humans and orcs seemed to like her and her policies, as did a few of the other native races. However, she did not live to see the residents of Drannor come through the rift. As a result the nagas have yet to meet them. As half snakes, nagas are able to swallow prey much larger than themselves, and are surprisingly stretchy, so to speak. However, because they are half human, swallowing particularly large prey will leave them incapacitated until their human stomach can break down the prey and transfer it to their snake stomach to finish digestion. The process of doing so usually takes 3 days to a week depending on how much larger than them the prey was. Despite the previous queens efforts, some nagas aren't all that civil, and will even try to kidnap children from various towns as their prey, but this is still rather rare due to the fact that most of the race are civil and kind. As a matter of fact, during the previous queen's life time, and even now, it has been rumored that some nagas have even adopted orphaned children of other races as their own, and have learned the behaviors of other races to help raise these children. Most nagas typically prefer to remain naked, but those particularly civil nagas will wear, at the very least, a loincloth to cover their genitals, which, typically will be found just below where their human halves meet their snake halves, and in the case of females, they will also wear a small cloth bra of sorts to conceal their breasts.

Racial Abilities:
Useful in Combat:
Venom: Because they are part snake, nagas can inject venom through their fangs into their targets. The effects of the venom vary depending on their subrace.
Nightvision: Nagas are well adapted to the darkness, and as a result, can see in the dark as if it was the middle of the day.
Third Eyelid: Being part snake, nagas have a third eyelid, which they can clothes to filter light and prevent themselves from being blinded in case someone attempts to, while still being able to see through it.

Abilities with Other Uses:
Stretchy: Nagas are...unusually stretchy. Normally this is only used relating to prey and eating larger animals whole, but what this also means is that a naga can stretch themselves to great lengths, and could potentially act as a living guard tower.

Sub-Races of Nagas and Venom Types; You can tell what subrace a naga is based on the primary color of its tail. Tail patterns, on the other hand, have no effect on subrace:

-Makoliki; Markings: A diamond shape with a colored dot in the center of each diamond; Venom: Normal venom, weakens victim over time and eventually kills them.

-Sesulic; Markings: None ; Venom:Acid venom, which effectively melts the victim from the inside out.

-Travil'soth; Markings: Splotches similar to a cow ; Venom: Confusion venom; Causes the victim to become very confused, not having any idea where they are going or having any idea what is going on.

-Domicorick; Markings: Colored markings that look slightly similar to an 'H' shape but more blotchy(i.e. http://www.garystpc.com/images/lightbox/snakes/copperhead/enlarge/Copperhead-baby.jpg ) A single colored stripe right down the center of the tail(vertically; from hips to tail tip, not horizontally) ; Venom:Drunkenness Venom; Causes the victim to feel as if they've had a few too many drinks, becoming nauseated, dizzy, wobbly, off balance, and having impaired vision and mental processes.

-Kule'tov; Markings: Markings look akin to multiple overlapping chainlink loops ; Venom:Lust Venom; Causes the victim to become extremely lustful, and be unable to help but to act on their impulses. Sometimes, depending on the age of the naga, the venom may even be strong enough to ignore orientation. In the past, some nagas have tried to use this venom to reproduce with other races.

-Mzieme; Markings: One large, thick colored stripe right down the center of the tail with a smaller, thinner stripe in the center of the larger one; Venom:Paralyzing Venom; Self-explanatory.

-Nokaw; Markings: Markings that look akin to puzzle pieces(Like a Burmese Python); Venom:None; Effectively a Python naga.

-Tangkhul; Markings: Something akin to jaguar markings.; Venom:Tranquilizing Venom; Causes the victim to become severely drowsy, and eventually, just knocks the victim out.

Strengths: Very capable swimmers
Considerably skilled at stealth
Their venom, when applicable
The ability to coil around and squeeze their targets or prey and keep them bound.
Usually Skilled Archers
Can extract their own venom to make antidotes in case of accidental ally injection, if applicable to the subrace.
Capable of eating almost anything to survive. Even if it doesn't taste good, a naga can eat various plants and animals--even pieces of tree bark, if they need to--in order to survive in case they don't have any food left with them.

Weaknesses: Extremely weak to large amounts of heat and fire(i.e., fried snakes)
Extremely susceptible to cold
Not skilled with swords, due to lacking legs and swords usually requiring fancy footwork.
Weak to all other tribes' venom but their own.
Fear of predatory birds(coincidentally includes dragons, despite being reptiles; some CAN get over this fear, but just barely...and they won't really be COMPLETELY over it)
Shedding; Just like a snake, a naga will shed its skin once a month, for both human and snake halves of their body...This leaves them much more vulnerable than they normally are. Additionally, because this includes their third eyelid, it leaves them temporarily blind while their new skin readjusts.
