Playable Races Empty
PostSubject: Re: Playable Races   Playable Races EmptyThu Apr 14, 2016 11:32 pm

~ Human~
Unlike the other races, humans do not  TYPICALLY wield super special abilities but seem to be strong willed and dedicated given their adversity.

Depending on the realm or region the human has come typically makes the appearance of the human that and genetics. Some range from short in Drannor's reality (5"2) to very tall (7"0").

Half of the humans native of Ukavone Kulkador had been tragically overcome with starvation given a small drought that scorched any crops fifty years ago. They still have yet to flourish, so they are few are far between even with the new intake of Drannor's humans.

Humans are usually found in Molgad and adhere to the lands Hierarchy as not to offend the more powerful races.

Common abilities:

Strong will- Human will is one not like any other, it drives them to truck on even if it seems the odds are against them, against their better judgement.  It drives them to keep fighting even when their leg is broken

Mining/smithing- self explanatory.

Hunting-The ability to hunt game for food.

Fishing- Expertly catch fish for food.

Farming-Self Explanatory.

And many common others! If it does not apply to the supernatural, then it is allowed here.

Uncommon: ( Will need to apply for these)

Clairvoyance- ability to tell the future ( though it's normally not too pinpoint)

Telekinesis- ability to move objects at a distance by mental power or other nonphysical means.

Telepathy- communication of thoughts or ideas by means other than the known senses. Ability to read minds

Wizardy- Typical spell casting abilities.

Weaknesses:

(For common humans)

Short life span

Weak to magic and glamour ( if they do not have uncommon abilities)

Susceptible to disease.

Admin note: You are not required to take all of the strengths and are more than welcome to add your own as long as you know that you must apply for magic.

Playable Races Empty
PostSubject: Re: Playable Races   Playable Races EmptyThu Apr 14, 2016 11:33 pm

                                                                            ~Fae~

The Fae are supernatural creatures that have existed secretly alongside unsuspecting humans for thousands of years often helping or terrorizing them.

Appearance:

Fae, depending on what form one is looking at, could range from hideous to strangely appealing. Some fae often glamour their true appearance, as it is normally odd to look upon or so attractive that humans can be effected by the looks alone.

In glamour- typically they take on a human-like appearance, some even have elongated ears, like elves and are often confused with them.

Without glamour- to pin point a certain appearance would be impossible as their appearances and types vary. The most common of the fae type, however, would be the pixie. These are small creatures with wings that often sparkle.

But if one needed to classify the race, they would normally be split in two groups with several subcategories. (See Seelie and Unseelie pages for this information)

History in Legacy of Drannor

Seelie Fae were not typically found in Ukavone Kulkador before the second demon war that took Drannor, but came shortly after the realm was destroyed. Most did come from H'sime or other unknown realms and spilled into the masses of Drannorites as they came from the realms in search of sanctuary in the lands as they did with Drannor. Unseelie, on the other hand, were said to have always been here, only recently showing themselves as new "Victims/friends" show up.

Their origin is unknown, not even known by the gods. Some say they were wished into existence by the child god, D'ol-ne other say they are the product of Lilith herself.

Society of Fae-
Fae in Drannor's story have scattered themselves all over Ukavone Kulkador to their respective places and can be found all over, those who are often glamoured are found in the village blending in with the elves or humans.

Fae enemies?
Seelie often seem to get along with many races, with the exception of Unseelie. Unseelie are careful who they get along with unlike the Seelie. The Unseelie of this reality see to open friendliness as a weakness, a way to get hurt, so they hate seelie for it.

Fae Professions?
As for professions, normally they choose professions that are typically human, if they do choose.

Typical Fae Abilities-
 (non type abilities)
All of these abilities are found in all fae, regardless of type.

Tongues - The gift of tongues allows them to speak any language at will, sometimes without even thinking about it. This gift allows them to work the elements, much as a witch or sorcerer would.

Glamour - Glamour is basically the power of illusion, except that these illusions are very sophisticated and supernaturally powered. These illusions allow for virtual invisibility and a change in appearance from their true forms. Glamour could usually be present for several years but will often drain the natural gifts from the fae.

Shapeshifting - Fae shapeshifting is not what one normally thinks of when they think of shapeshifting. Fae usually only shapeshift to increase or decrease their size. This shapeshifting is proportional so that they cannot, say, make only one body part larger. ( only present in some races of fae, such as pixies.

Flight - Fae can fly by way of their wings which can be used at any size due to their supernatural properties. ( only present in some races of fae, such as pixies or unnamed fae)

Weaknesses:
Iron - Iron is poisonous of the Fae and may kill them if there is too much in their system. Iron can be passed into a Fae's system by the slightest touch so most tend to avoid cold Iron with a vengeance.

Rowan wands - Rowan wands can break a Fae Glamour prematurely.

Shiny Objects - Fae are very susceptible to shiny objects and are often seen dressed in sequins and gems. While this particular weakness does not incapacitate them, it could possibly be useful in distracting them.

Inability to lie (Seelie)- it is in a Fae's nature not to lie about anything at all, but it does not stop them from skirting around the truth

Playable Races Empty
PostSubject: Re: Playable Races   Playable Races EmptyThu Apr 14, 2016 11:33 pm

~Elves~
Long lived, Elves are innately in tune with nature, and magically inclined. Legend has it they were once full Fae who reached for a more involved position in the world and were thrust from the pantheon to survive the ravages of time for their decision.

:[ Physical Description ]:
Elves tend to be taller (5’10” - 7’0”) and slender in build. Extremely rare is the muscular, beefy elf. They can vary from the darkest of skin tones to the lightest, as well as share the same range of hair and eye colors as humans; These, just like humans, are traits developed to adapt to environmental influences. Expect taller, leaner, darker skinned elves from warm, sunny regions, as well as shorter, stouter, lighter skinned elves from colder areas.

History of Elves:
Elves are not native to the mountains or surrounding foothills near the Orc encampment, and are very rarely seen where they once were native. Ukavone Kulkodar is a realm where the racial animosity between elves and orcs was settled many many generations ago, and those still remaining, if any, have gone deep into hiding. The one elf known to inhabit the realm is the reluctant Queen Rayania, was raised with and has gained the respect of the Orcs many times over.

They were said to be a part of the Fae, but were cast out of as they concerned themselves with the affairs of men.

Elves in society:
Some elves live in small tribes, at one with the forest, others live in massive elegantly sculpted cities. Mostly caste based, elvish societies tend to be as rigid and inflexible as the elves themselves. Steeped in ceremony and tradition, life as an elf is planned and precise. Haughty, arrogant, prudish; these are all adjectives common to describing the way elves act, or at least from people that do not understand. Elves are long lived and as such tend to view the actions of shorter lived species as rash and short sighted, tend to look down upon other races as if they were children.

Racial Abilities:

Strengths:

Mundane or Common abilities

Higher proficiency with woodscraft and fine artistry

Immunity to sleep magics and resistant to poisons

Weaknesses:

Musical distraction- Attuned to songs and music, Elves sometimes find themselves distracted by melodies at inconvenient times.

Physical weakness- As a race elves are typically willowy in their natural state, it would normally take them longer to gain strength in training than it would with supernaturals .

Slower healing- because the elves' immune system is slower than the average human's they would NATURALLY heal slower.

                                                           ~Orc~
At the beginning there was the Great Birth. The Gith Faavhas Blew with his mighty heads a blast of fire that created all the Heavens and the earth. Then, each head blew air upon the Barren lands of all the realms that had been created, which brough life to the lands. Orc, Men, Beasts, Elf, the Fae, all creatures were created by these mighty breaths. Among these, the land Ukavone Kulkodar was delegated to the Orcs. The Gith Faavhas gave birth to his children, The dragons. Each of them exhibiting traits of one of his heads. These Dragons were the direct descendants of Gith Faavhas and should be worshipped as such. On the occasion that a Rosak (Descendant of Gith Faavhas) selects someone to bond with and be ridden by, that one is honored by the Gods themselves. Such an honored person is to be revered, and even obeyed, as they are distinguished as superior by the Gods.
-=-Orcish Society-=-
Orcs are a very brutal, yet honorable mass of beings. Often extremely misunderstood, they are sometimes seen as merely beasts or monsters, yet they have a complicated and sophisticated culture and society. As one of the first to have a completely thourough civil rights system in play for men and women, since they are indistinguished in their society. The Orcish society is a very blunt, honest society. While theft and lying do exist, it is uncommon and looked at as very dishonorable. To be dishonorable is one of the worst things you can do in Orcish society. The Orc King, or "Kaumn," is almost always a dragon rider who has distinguished himself in battle and in all other areas of life and society. At current, the Kaummn is the one called Muk, who is a fair, but brutal ruler. He rides charge of his warriors, as is customary. Rarely does the King stand by as his warriors battle. It is considered weakness to hide from ones enemies, and thus the King leads with example.

                                                          ~Lycans~
Lycans are said to be humans with the ability to shapeshift into a wolf or therianthropic hybrid wolf-like creature.

Lycans in Drannor are either born with the affliction, have been turned via bite using blood magic or cursed.

Appearance:
Lycans, in their human forms look a lot like humans with the exception of their eyes, which glow much like that of a vampires, though are usually a normal hue.

Direwolf form- lycans would appear as a wolf, but larger, typically only a head taller than most of the wolves.

Warform- a large, muscular creature that looks a cross between human and wolf.

History of Lycans: The Lycan's history is very much connected to the Vampires.

With the creation of vampires, the god Anubi (in other realm reality is known as Anubis), created the creature to safe guard other humans from succumbing to the vampire strain.

They were meant as protectors of the humans. But it is not known of a racial war between the lycans and vampires, unless the creatures are aware of the ancient lore, but given that they followed the strain of vampires about the realms their lore was lost as well  .

Typically Lycans only live a few hundred years, usually 500 or so.

Lycan FAQ:

Lycans in Drannor are not required to join a pack, but players must remember that those not in any pack may not be allowed in the forest to hunt.

Lycans are not allowed to wield or speak in their wolf or war forms.

Lycans normally hunt in the lycan part of the woods or fae claimed woods. IC it is normally taboo for lycans to set foot in the fae parts of the forest, but it is not entirely possible.

Once a character has shifted for the first time into a beast form, it is forever a Lycan and able to shift at will.

The Carrier form for Lycans is Human and human only. Before a Lycan's first shift there is a vast possibly to become anything character wise, with the exception of Vampires. After the first shift ( normally done by garou at the age of 13) Lycansare unable to be anything other than Lycan, unless they parish.

Lycan's are immune to vampire blood and cannot be changed into a Vampire.

Lycans come in two types: Garou- who's blood is directly from the line of the original Lycans, these are creatures who are born into the race. Lycanthrope are those created by garous via bite or scratch or by curse.

Lycans in Society:

Lycans live much like humans do, unless the full moon is out, they must shift, one is not sure why, as lore does not say, but it is rumored that a vampire's power of persuasion is stronger then.

Racial Abilities:

Strengths-

Guide Of the Spirit- A lycan may project his spirit into the natural world through a form of meditation or ritual. This will leave the lycan exhausted and he can not perform the action again for at least two days if done for a long period of time.

Unnatural Healing- A lycan injured by normal means can heal 5x the rate of a normal human being. If said lycan is injured by silver, or magic, they will heal at the rate of a normal human.

Atonement of the Beast- One has earned the trust of the wolf inside, thus during full moons they are not forced to change.

Sense the Lych- Some lycan have the ability to detect the undead, vampires, and those possessed by demons.

----

Weaknesses:

High-Frequency Noise - The effect of high-pitched noises can range from irritating, to deafening, to dangerously incapacitating - depending upon their intensity. High frequency noises at extreme amplitudes can rupture ear drums and cause severe damage - leading to temporary loss of hearing and vertigo.

High Metabolism - Though not a direct weakness, lycan require large intakes of food to function at peak levels. Protein is the primary necessity, required for the near-constant cellular regeneration that takes place during transformations and healing. Though lycan can survive without food longer than humans, the diminishing effects on muscle mass and energy can be just as drastic.

Scent - Lycan maintain their unique scent even when in human form. Though meaningless to other humans, this does make it more difficult for lycan to blend in as 'human' when among others with keen olfactory senses.

Wolfsbane - a plant created by T'acito to ward off the lycans from places Vampire clans reside.

                                                     ~Vampires~
Vampires are powerful supernatural beings who have been given the gift of immorality, but for a price of their soul. Vampires in Drannors lore are not affected by the sun, but are harmed by any white magic.

Can you tell vampires apart from other humans?

Most Vampires appear as young, beautiful humans with pale skin, sharpened canine teeth, and unnaturally colored glowing eyes. Usually the magic that creates vampires does not normally effect non humans, as some other races are so long lived they do not desire immortality like short lived humans do. Vampires are notorious for their urge to drink the blood of the living, which most must do regularly if they are to maintain their existence given their heart no longer beats. A vampire often is overcome with thirst that the creature falls into a blood lust of sorts. These creatures are known as Varghulf, which is a monstrous killing machine that exists only to feed. Varghulf are large, white creatures that are bat-like in appearance (but can look relativity normal when out of their blood lust) Varghulf always kill their victims. The usual Vampire-kin do not classify these creatures as their own kin but something entirely different and do not adopt their need to kill their prey. To the Vampire-kin of , blood is precious and they often stick with certain prey, so they see absolutely no reason to kill their food source.

Vampire History
The creation of the first vampire was  started at the beginning of creation, where the gods descended from the heavens to create the many realms and the first creation, Despoina, a creature meant to the mother of human-kind . Despoina had the traits of nearly all the gods, especially the goddess of romance's curvy figure. Of course, this tempted the god T'acito, the creation too beautiful to ignore with her pale skin and enchanting eyes.

As the gods were busy painting the realms, T'acito took Despoina to bed as his lust for the creature was too much to bare.

Soon the mother of all humanity was with child, but not the child the gods desired.

T'acito was cast down from the heavens and no longer granted access to the land of gods and Despoina was killed as punishment and had sworn that humans were no longer allowed to live as long as the gods as they originally.

T'acito sought to create his own version of humanity to spit in the face of the others. But, decided to wait until the god's became bored with their creations. T'acito did hide for thousands of years, deeming the time right. The god eventually pushed himself out of hiding under the guise of a creature called "Lesientat" and sought out the perfect candidate for his own creation, a human strikingly similar to his Despoina. But, he didn't want the turning to be a romantic one, noo.. he wanted the creature to be near death and in pain so the god's sought to take it away, only to find that the creature would live forever to spite them. This is where the current ritual of turning had begun.

His new creature soon created the new strain of humanity who lovingly call her "Queen Despoina".

The gods, after losing several of their little creations to this new strain of humanity cursed them with the lust of blood to survive, given how they were created with a form of blood magic, their souls were stripped away from and the gods formed them into an image that was nearly monstrous.

But Queen Despoina's creatures became selective of their victims, only choosing the most beautiful so the blood line was less, monstrous, which created the pale, nearly death-like appearance, glowing eyes (gifted from the gods to warn the other creations of their monstrous nature) and sharp canine. The followers of Despoina had the intention to create a creature so beautiful that humans would be lured to them out of sheer lust. To humanity these creatures became known as "Vampires" liking the name, they adopted it and spread their strains across the realms, until the original lore was lost and changed to each vampire's liking.

Vampires in Society:

Vampires can blend into society as long as they stay fed, so their lust for blood is not present. But the eyes usually give them away so they are often covered with shades. As long they are fed they could work alongside human kind, assuming positions that would gather money for their clans or houses.

Racial Abilities,

Strengths:
Speed- These creatures are able to run faster than MOST races, humans included.

Moderately enhanced strength- Able to lift an animal/human that is 200 pounds with some effort.

Addictive bite- The blood magic in which they were originally created with gives the vampire-kin a bite that is addictive to humans, so they come back for more.
Immortality-They are very hard to kill by any conventional means.

Persuasion- By looking into the eyes of the victim as they are speaking creates a sort of hypnosis that lures the victim to their person (the stronger willed are not normally swayed, but the weaker willed are easily swayed)

Weaknesses:
Must drink blood to survive.
Can burn easier by fire than any other race.
May not enter a Private dwelling without permission and if permission is revoked verbally they are no longer allowed in the space.
Must not enter any space that has anything to do with the gods.
They are repelled by symbols and statues of the gods.

Playable Races Empty
PostSubject: Re: Playable Races   Playable Races EmptyThu Apr 14, 2016 11:33 pm

                                                                     ~Dragons~
Great beings that are seen as gods in Uvakone Kulkodar, and highly respected by all. Highly intelligent, they survive longer than any known species; some of the longest living dragons have been around since time itself began. Their own creation stories are unknown to any other than the eldest of the eldest.

Appearance:
Generally large creatures, some growing as large as a decent-sized town. Reptilian, scaled from nose to tail, with slitted eyes. Their colors could range from deep black, to precious gems such as ruby or emerald, to opalescent, to pure white. Wings are made of bone, with thin membrane to catch the wind. Some dragons have markings on their wings, while others have gradients, or just one color. Generally, dragons have four legs - two powerful back ones and two smaller front ones used for climbing, tearing, carrying, etc. Some subspecies have two legs, and their "forelegs" would be their wings.

History:
A sacrifice of the most ancient of dragons birthed the realm of Drannor, a refuge for them and other races, a refuge from the demons threatening all the realms. They hid away in the caves, allowing the bipedals to lead a simple life above ground while they watched and waited. When the demons began attacking regularly, they participated in the defense of the village of Drannor

Dragons in society:
To the public eye, they seem to not associate with other races much, save for those who are bonded. When sacrifices are made on the mountain, a dragon will appear to claim it, thereby pleasing the orcs.

In secret, they have a strict hierarchy. The oldest ancients are the leaders, and they watch over and try to protect their own, as well as their bonded. They will go so far as to create their own safe realms, though only the oldest and strongest dragons have that sort of power. The younger and weaker dragons serve the ancients, observing the goings-on and reporting back to them - much like scouts or spies. If there is danger of war, the ancients will decide to take action - either suggesting to Kings and Queens of a solution before blood sheds, or moving their people themselves. Their goal, ultimately, is to keep the peace. To create a safe, long-term option for living.
Mundane tasks (farming, craftsmanship, trading) or the machinations   and institutions (religion, science, politics) of shorter lived races are beneath them and typically are left to those that created or need such. Money is seen as unnecessary as anything they may need or want can be procured through barter or force, but shiny objects are always appreciated, at an instinctual level. It is unknown why they do covet shinies, but dragon hordes are fact, and legendary.

Racial abilities:

Abilities tend to vary among dragons based upon lineage, usually corresponding to the dominant color of scales, as well as increase in strength based upon age.
Red Dragons: Immune to fire and heat, weak to ice and cold. Flame breath weapon.
White Dragons: Immune to ice and cold, weak to fire and heat. Freeze breath weapon.
Black Dragons: Immune to acid, weak to electricity Acid breath weapon.
Green Dragons: Immune to Poison, weak to fire. Poison cloud breath weapon.
Blue Dragons: Immune to electricity, weak to water. Electricity breath weapon.

Weaknesses are listed above.

There are common abilities among all of them, usually due to their physical characteristics, such as flight, claws, strength. They have the ability to transform into 2 of three forms: Human, hybrid, and dragon.

 Additional Info:
This race requires an application and approval process for all players. Any and all derivatives / subraces are welcome, but subject to admin approval.

Playable Races Empty
PostSubject: Re: Playable Races   Playable Races EmptyThu Apr 14, 2016 11:34 pm

~Angels~

The Angels of Drannor are not from your mother's bible, but have a holy purpose. They are guardians of the gods, only involving themselves with matters of men when it comes to a demonic presence among them, they are the lighter side of the gods as demons are mostly Lilith's wrath. In lore, Demons are known as the destroyers of humanity as Lilith was often a sympathizer of T'acito and his plight with the other gods while Angels along with the Lycans are the guardians of the precious life the gods lovingly created.

Appearance:
Human-like when Glamoured.

When Glamour is not present, the creatures have large wings upon their back of a variety of NATURAL colors

History of Angels:
When the gods cast out T'acito it angered the goddess of the dead, Lilith. Taking many of the dead for own, she created a source to rid the world of the humans the gods so protected. Thousands did die by their hand, which would prompt the gods to create the angels to guard them along side Anubi's lycans when T'acito created his cursed species of humans.

Later on, the original angelic creations became known as the archangels, who blessed "light side" dying creatures to add to the gods' army.

< Death of an Angel>
Removal of wings most often kills the angel as this is their connection not only with the gods but with the realm of the living, itself.

Even if the angel DOES survive the removal of their wings, they would mostly go mad.

Angels in Society: Angels do not consider themselves holier than humans, so they blend well in society.

Racial Abilities-

Strengths:

The knowing- Knowledge of the creation of the creation of the realms.
Flight (only when Unglamoured)

Access between the realm of the gods and the realm of the living.

Ability to use White magic ( good magic)

Weaknesses:

Wings are sensitive and fragile, so they are easily damaged.

Black magic or blood magic

Followers of "Lilith" would make it hard for them to stay in the same structure. Their presence would exhaust them.

PostSubject: Re: Playable Races   Playable Races EmptyThu Apr 14, 2016 11:34 pm

                                          ~Demons~

The Demons have influences from realms all over the multiverse. They are known as the destroyers of humanity, and have been in a constant race war with the Angels since their creation.

Appearance: Human-like when Glamoured. When Glamour is not present, the creatures could range from monstrous in appearance, to devilishly handsome.

History of Demons: When the gods cast out T'acito it angered the goddess of the dead, Lilith. Taking many of the dead for own, she created a source to rid the world of the humans the gods so protected. Thousands did die by their hand, and would continue to do so through the ages. As centuries past, the demons began to split off, becoming more independent. They grew less concerned about spreading darkness, and more concerned about themselves. There would be some stories of armies growing, but only with those who worshiped certain gods.
< Death of a Demon> Demons can be killed by white magic and water that has been blessed by an angel

Demons in Society: Demons normally stick to themselves, or may seem like an outcast within human society. They may be classified by humans as spellcasters, or users of dark magic.
Racial Abilities-
Strengths

The knowing- Knowledge of the creation of the creation of the realms.

Flight (only when Unglamoured)

Access between the realm of the gods and the realm of the living.

Ability to use Dark magic

Weaknesses:
Demons are easily ensnared by entrapment circles done by a well trained mage.

Cannot enter temples or grounds that have been "blessed" by angels

White magic.

Followers of the "lighter" gods can easily sway demons away.
